STYLING TIPS FROM SHANE
How do Professionals Style Homes for Sale?
Styling is the perfect way to show off your home to potential buyers.
It gives buyers a feeling of luxury and, more than anything, shows them how the home will look and feel with their furniture inside.
From lack of clutter, clean and well-executed furniture and accessories, there are many ways you can make a styled space feel like a home.
Specialising in styling homes for sale, Shane Home Decor gives us a rundown of how you can best spruce up your home to attract the buyer?s eye.
Tip 1: Bright
If the room is dark, use light materials to make the space feel brighter.
Shane says that with bedrooms, she always starts with white as the base colour and adds to it from there.
White feels clean and luxurious, and it?s sure to entice buyers in.
Tip 2: Add Colours
If the room is dark, use light materials to make the space feel brighter.
Shane says that with bedrooms, she always starts with white as the base colour and adds to it from there.
White feels clean and luxurious, and it?s sure to entice buyers in.
Tip 3: Layers
Once you?ve removed all clutter from the styled space, layers help to make a room feel lush and decadent.
Whether you add extra blankets and pillows to a bed, or cushions and a throw to the couch, it?s easy to up-the-ante in your home.
Tip 4: Finishing Touches
Finally, don?t forget to add the finishing touches like ornaments, books and maybe a tray with wine glasses.
Everyone has trinkets, but styled homes have specific pieces that match and tie the space together.
From lamps to a drinks tray (Shane?s personal suggestion for adding opulence), these are must-haves when styling your home!
3 Easy Tips That Will Transform Your Home Before Selling
Modern and newly built houses can feel almost too new, so adding a touch of character and style can help make it feel like a home.
If you?re selling, you?ll want to appeal to buyers? senses by highlighting the potential to help them envisage how it would feel to live there.
We caught up with interior stylist, Shane from Home Decor, to hear her top three tips on how to make a modern house feel homely.
Tip 1: Use greenery
Greenery is a great way to add an earthy feel to any space. Bringing the inside in will instantly give the home a homely vibe.
Shane suggests using a Fiddle Leaf Fig as the perfect indoor plant.
?The beautiful deep green colour in the leaves of a Fiddle Leaf Fig can add some style to the space and also create the feeling of nature,? says Shane.
Tip 2: Use textures
Textures are a great way to add depth and colour to any styled space.
?Preferably natural textures work best when styling a modern home,? Shane says.
You can bring out these textures in rugs, couches and accessories.
In this case, Shane has used a natural seagrass rug, black wicker chairs and a gorgeous leather sofa. These textures together have given this space an earthy vibe to set the mood of the room.
Tip 3: Go for a classic contemporary look
When staging a modern home it?s important to go for a classic contemporary look. If the styling is too dark or edgy, it won?t appeal to buyers as much as a welcoming and warm homey vibe.
Shane suggests using modern furniture and toning it down with soft classic accessories.
?Flowers as an accessory will instantly soften any space. Using light soft colours will also help to give the room a contemporary feel.?
In this case she has used an edgy modern dining table and softened it with baby pink flowers in a contemporary style vase.
